The Shanghai Award Task Force is pleased to announce that the deadline for submitting applications for the 3rd Cycle of the Global Award for Sustainable Development in Cities (Shanghai Award) has been extended to 27 June 2025 (23:59 PM East Africa Time).

This extension comes in response to the growing interest and demand from cities across the globe and aims to provide additional time for applicants to refine and strengthen their submissions.

Cities that have submitted applications are welcome to make changes to their entries during the deadline extension period. Please contact the award task force at outreach@shanghaiaward.org if you wish to make changes to submitted materials, or have any questions regarding submission.

In addition to self-applying cities, nominations from UN agencies (other than UN-Habitat), organisations and institutions with consultative status at ECOSOC, or those specially invited by UN-Habitat are also welcomed during the extended timeframe.
